This is obviously something we are all aware of, but i thought I would post this as a small reminder that we should all be more diligent in what we choose to bring home and apply to our bodies. I came across this video via Table Tonic, an everyday fave check-in!

If you're about to watch the video, and this is something that is important to you, there's a book I picked up awhile back that may interest you if you haven't already picked it up... it's a great resource/inside look at what so many of us have been using for years... It's called, 'The Green Beauty Guide: Your Essential Resource to Organic and Natural Skin Care, Hair Care, Makeup, and Fragrances' by Julie Gabriel.

also... if you're still reading and haven't watched yet, the video is basically a mini scare... it doesn't get down to the gritty stuff or really go into too much detail but I think it's worth a watch and a think through...

will hopefully be back and more present soon, or at least fill you all in on why I have been MIA

one. you should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.

two. a gentleman today has to work. people who do not work are so boring and are usually bored. you have to be passionate, you have to be engaged and you have to be contributing to the world.

three. manners are very important and actually knowing when things are appropriate. i always open doors for women, i carry their coat, i make sure that they’re walking on the inside of the street. stand up when people arrive at and leave the dinner table.

four. don’t be pretentious or racist or sexist or judge people by their background.

five. a man should never wear shorts in the city. flip-flops and shorts in the city are never appropriate. shorts should only be worn on the tennis court or on the beach.

Has everyone caught the New York Times article featuring the girls of Lonny, Rue, High Gloss, and Matchbook. If you haven't, it's been one of those touchy articles where certain things may have been taken out of context. Although the article has been great in showcasing the rise in online publications, it's gotten quite the response from said magazines followers, not all loving the article.

Here are before and after pictures of my chair project. The lighting isn't fabulous in the after picture but hopefully you get the jist of it! I'm liking it, it's not quite what I had in mind when I started, however, I'm cool with it, it is after all my first project. It only gets better from here right! Also, it has that new feel to it so we're doing our best to break it in again and make it as comfortable as the original was.

I'm now working on a headboard for our spare bedroom, I shall post pictures soon.
